我们向神祷告，对于事工方面，必须把细节说得清楚，将我们所期盼的作明确的表达，这是很重要的；对于爱、信心、洁净以及对付罪的祷告，也要坦白地说清楚；如此，当神对我们有了回应，我们便即刻能明白，并且更加了解神，是如何乐意垂听祂儿女的祷告。
我们的灵里，有时会出现怠惰的现象，对于神的旨意懒得追根究底，总是用属灵谦卑的外表，来接纳从一般的属灵标准（多半是属于人建构的），以概括性的方向寻找。这样地找寻神的旨意，往往已偏行己路而不自觉，所以，我们要常常检视自己，是否用心灵和「诚实」敬拜神。
